International Collaboration for Cultural Heritage and Capacity Building in the UAE: Technical Workshop on Project Planning
The seminar is organised within the framework of the CHEDAR project and takes place following the formal agreement established between the University of Florence (UNIFI) and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
It presents the organizational and scientific framework of the on-site workshop to be held in December 2026 in the United Arab Emirates, in the context of knowledge transfer to the Arab and Mediterranean Regions, with the participation of Ona Vileikis.
The seminar is conceived as a methodological coordination and alignment meeting among partners prior to field implementation.

• Criteria for the selection of the case study and operational context
• Role of international cooperation in the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage
• Educational structure and integration between theoretical sessions and field activities
• Selection of technologies (photogrammetry, laser scanning, etc.)
• Field data acquisition and processing workflows
• Data management strategies
• Knowledge transfer in international contexts
• Collaboration models with local institutions and international stakeholders
• The educational and strategic impact on the local context
• Digital workflows for risk management
The objective is to share a replicable model for
an international workshop focused on capacity
building and the enhancement of cultural
heritage in areas characterised by high climatic
and anthropogenic complexity.
